69th Illinois Secretary of State Vehicle Show and Swap Meet

The car show is held rain or shine at Second Street and Capitol Avenue. First-, second- and third-place awards are presented in 60 classes. All entries must be parked by 10 a.m., even if you are pre-registered, and the showfield gates will close at that time. There are no entries past 10 a.m allowed to enter the showfield per committee rule. Entries are parked on a first-come, first-served basis with the committee directing the process.
Judging begins after the judges meeting is held at the Illinois State Library. This starts around 11 a.m. One Marquee Award will be presented and one Illinois State Champion will be recognized. If there is a tie for the State Champion, a random draw will take place. Registration is $10 per vehicle. Registering by Sept. 1 guarantees a gift bag. Limited, special edition license plates are available for $20 per set in commemoration of this historic event. Awards are presented at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Illinois State Library lawn. The 69th Vehicle Show and Swap Meet will go on rain or shine.
Meters on Capitol Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets are bagged on Friday at 4 pm.
Early Saturday morning, 2nd Street between Monroe and Jackson will be closed, as will Capitol at 3rd Street.
The meters will be open on Saturday around noon and barricaded streets will reopen on Saturday at 6 pm.
