Finding Truth in the Age of Alternative Facts

November 20 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Changes in technology make finding the truth in what we hear on the news, read in newspapers and see on screens very difficult. The Tech Talk group from the Academy of Lifelong Learning at LLCC in partnership with the Illinois State Museum, is hosting a three-part series of various panels to explore what is real and ways to determine what is true on the internet and in other media. Jim Leach, News Director of News/Talk 94.7 & 970 WMAY, is moderator. This is the third of three: Who’s Checking the Fact Checkers?: Exploring methods of finding truth on the internet and in other media.

Programs will be held at 6 p.m. at the Illinois State Museum in the Thorne Deuel Auditorium, are free, and open to the public. Each program begins at 6 p.m. Registration is requested. To Register, call 217-786-2432.
