James Armstrong Presents BluesMattic

The band was formed in 2006 to bring a combination of hard driving rocknblues and traditional blues to the Midwest.
Robert Micheal Beam, aka “Creek Walker”, is the lead guitar player who originally cut his teeth on blues as a touring professional and studio musician is from Atlanta Georgia. Robert writes the original tunes that set the band apart from other bluesrock bands. He also incorporates slide guitar and blues harp into the mix to compliment his lead vocals. This combination gives a well rounded musical feel of classic blues music mixed together with original flare and a Fender Strat that makes you glad to be alive! Robert’s history of playing with some of the industry heavy weights, includes opening for Billy Jo Royal, Bob Seger, Lobo, Iron Butterfly, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Gary Lewis and the Playboys. He has backed Bo Diddly, Percy Sledge, and jammed with Kansas, Georgia Satelites, Lynard Skynrd and members of Allman Bros. In the 80’s he did studio work and recorded background music for several T.V. shows. During the 90’s Robert toured with Chicago Bob Nelson. In the past five years Robert has moved to Illinois from Georgia released three contemporary gospel CDs and put together “Bluesmattic” to bring his flavor of rocknblues to central Illinois.
Greg Campbell the Bass player has a musical history that goes back several decades. In his early career he toured State Fairs with the “Cavelcade of Stars” that opened for headliners such as the Beach Boys, The Kinks, Jefferson Airplane and backed BJ Thomas. The last 12 years have been spent perfecting his blues music asperations with bands such as “Mojo Jones” and “The Last Chance Blues Band”.
Barry Woodworth the drummer has a musical history straight out of rock-n-roll as the drummer for Hat Trick & Mojo Jones”. His exceptional skills as a drummer have been unleashed and now adds his talents to the popular power trio rocknblues band.
