HSHS St. John’s Hospital has supported the Market as premier sponsor for more than two decades. “St. John’s is proud to be the premier sponsor as
we believe in the importance of locally-grown, fresh produce to help people live healthier lives,” said HSHS St. John’s President and CEO Charles L. Lucore, M.D., M.B.A. “We’ll be at the Old Capitol Farmers Market each week, offering various health screenings such as blood pressure monitoring and measuring body mass index for free.”
The Old Capitol Farmers Market is provided by Downtown Springfield, Inc. in cooperation with Illinois Stewardship Alliance and Springfield Area Arts Council. Illinois Stewardship Alliance (ISA) has a statewide mission to promote local food systems, and they manage the OCFM vendor registration and at-market experience. SAAC partners to jury the artisan vendors and schedule local musicians. The City of Springfield Office of Public Works also supports the Market.
We support local farmers and local ingredients! Vendors may participate in the Market if they meet our requirements and register online. Prices benefit those steady vendors who participate more weeks of the market. We also accept artisans who make their own creations. Sign up at ManageMyMarket.com>
