Join other history buffs and become part of the next “Looking for Lincoln Conversations” event as we welcome John Lupton and Samuel Wheeler for “Abraham Lincoln and the Illinois Supreme Court.” These two experts, who serve with the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission, will have an engaging discussion about Lincoln’s legal career, specifically as it relates to his appellate practice. Their presentation is followed by questions and observations from the virtual audience. This live presentation will be hosted by musician and folklorist Chris Vallillo

Viewers can watch and participate in the program on Wednesday June 16, 2021 at 7:00 pm on the Looking for Lincoln Facebook page and YouTube channel. The program is recorded and available for viewing after the premier.

John Lupton is the historian for the Illinois Supreme Court and the director of the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission. Lupton has worked for the Lincoln Legal Papers and the Paper of Abraham Lincoln.

Samuel Wheeler is the Director of History Programs for the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission. Wheeler formerly worked for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
