The National Park Service (NPS) authorized the creation of Lincoln Home National Historic Site on August 17, 1971 and completed the establishment of the site on October 2, 1972. In the 50 years since, millions of people have taken a tour, fifteen historic structures have been restored, and over 330,000 artifacts have been collected. What has changed, and what hasn’t?
