During April and May 2025, DSI held four public sessions around town in order to gather valuable, authentic feedback from members of the community. The series of conversations examined how we promote and market our individual downtown neighborhoods and encouraged attendees to share their ideas and experiences. DSI 2025 COMMUNITY MEETING
Culminating DSI's work from the past twelve months, a community meeting was hosted on June 6, 2025. DSI staff and board members, along with Ward 5 Alderwoman Lakeisha Purchase, spoke about the progress that has been made in downtown Springfield while also outlining plans for the future.
DESIGN YOUR DOWNTOWN WITH DSI
On four different Thursdays during the 2025 Levitt Amp Springfield Music Series, community members had the opportunity to design their own downtown neighborhood. Kids and adults alike sketched, colored, and glued to create their ideal neighborhood and show DSI what's most important to the Springfield community.
